Former NBA player & humanitarian Manute Bol died at the age of 47 yesterday in Charlottesville, Virginia. Having played as a Washington Bullet, Golden State Warrior, Philadelphia 76er and Miami Heat center as the games tallest player at 7′7″, Manute succumbed to acute kidney failure and complications from Stevens–Johnson Syndrome at the University of Virginia Medical Center. His charitable work for his war torn & poverty stricken country of Sudan was profiled in the documentary Manute Bol – Basketball Warrior which can be seen in it’s entirety after the cut.
