In what may be the realest interview I’ve seen in a while from a rapper in this fake gangster plagued industry, Chi Ali the former child rapper turned convicted murderer speaks on camera for the first time from behind the confines of Sing Sing Correction Facility in Ossining NY where he has spent the last 9 years of a 14 year sentence. At 16 the youngest member of the legendary Native Tongues born Chi Ali Griffin released his only album, 1992’s The Fabolous Life Of Chi Ali that spawned the hit “Age Ain’t Nothin But A Number“. However it wasn’t until 8 years later that Ali’s actions would affect his life the most when he murdered his girlfriends brother over a $300 debt which led to a manhunt and Ali’s appearance on America’s Most Wanted until his eventual capture and conviction. In the above mini doc with no frontin or posturing, the former rap prodigy explains how he spends his life behind bars, and yearns for the days we so take for granted. – ICE
